If you're a lawyer or attorney that's trying to market itself in 2021, you know this isn't as easy as it seems. Sure, you might have read a few content marketing blogs in the past. Unfortunately, nothing you're trying now seems to work. Sound familiar? If so, it might be because your law firm's content marketing strategy needs a little work. Don't worry, I'm here to help as I give you a few simple content marketing tips for law firm owners.
1. Try many different ways of advertising
When it comes to content marketing for lawyers, it's wise to try as many strategies as possible. If you want to start optimizing your website for search engines, try different techniques. The same goes with where you're linking. Digital marketing experts will sometimes buy a few domains, market each of them, and take the one over that yields the best results.
2. Watch those keywords
As an lawyer or someone that works at a law firm knows, it's a good idea to be careful. The same rule applies when it comes to adding keywords to your law firm's website. Less is more. A decade ago, you might have gotten away with writing the same keyword over and over, on every page of a website. Nowadays, that kind of stuff doesn't fly and it will mean that it's difficult for your website to get off of the ground.
3. Guest post whenever possible
As you might already know, a website won't get far without quality backlinks. Unfortunately, this is an area where lots of people understandably falter. If you need more people to find your law firm's website, or you're seeing low rankings, it might be time to start guest posting. Guest posting is when someone from one website posts content on another one. This kind of plan might seem a little counter-intuitive, but it's anything but that. Instead, effective guest posting is a great way for a whole new audience to find out about your company.
4. Make an email list
One of the phrases I've heard most as a marketer is that the money is in the list. This means that you want to have an email list for the purpose of speaking to your company's followers and website visitors. With an email list, you can reach out to people at almost any time.
